POLISH STUDENTS IN FRANCE
MEETING IN WISSEMBOURG - 07.02-11.02.2011

Between 7nd and 12th February our students accompanied by teachers and visited France. Our host was Lycee Stanislas in Wissembourg. Our your European citizens were provided with an attractive programme of stay including a trip to Strasbourg. It was an unforgettable experience to discover the fascinating sights of the beautiful Old Town as we took a boat trip along the Ill River. After that we visited the seat of the European Parliament.
This institution actively promotes the idea of human rights and is the voice of the entire Europe which supports human rights and those who protect them. This is also one of the goals of our project. During our visit in Wissembourg we discoverd the traces of Stanisław Leszczyński – the Polish king who our French partner school is named after. We are going to follow the life story of Stanisław Leszczyński in March, when the French students visit our country – we are planning to visit the Wawel Castle, where his remains are buried. French students prepared workshops for us – the main topic was intolerance and discrimination. We also had integration activities, which brought us close together. That’s why it was so hard to say goodbye to our French hosts and many tears were shed. The more readily we will welcome our friends from France when they come over. Let us greet them with the same kindness, hospitality and warmth that we experienced during our five-day stay in the Alsace wine country.
